Desktop virtualization has been looked upon as a solution for enabling central management security of your user’s desktops and with less IT management overhead.

Using virtual desktops that have a Windows operating system, you can access it from an iPad and Android device desktop or a laptop. You have access to your personalized desktop environment or a workspace. This means I can work at home, at the office, from a hotel, or anywhere else. And from each device, I will have access to my data and applications.

Now, this approach separates your operating system’s data and apps from local hardware, running them instead separately on a remote server.

Creating a desktop virtualization environment internally has been expensive and complicated. Users have often lacked the productivity experience of a locally provisioned desktop, and it can take weeks and sometimes months to get a successful implementation up and running.

So, why not use hosting platforms?
